Jakks awarded Neopets license

Firm to produce wide range of products based on the Neopets global virtual world.

The domestic-based toy licensing agreement has been made with Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP).

The Neopets product range will include plush toys, action figures, accessories and play sets, Plug It In & Play TV Games, interactive toys and role-play products along with vehicles, youth electronics, water toys, stationery products and craft activity toys.

The launch of the product lines ties in with Neopets Key Quest, a multiplayer gaming and collecting experience. The Plush toys will contain codes, which allow children to unlock additional content on the website. .

The Plush toys are expected to arrive in store by spring 2008, with other product lines following in autumn 2008.

Leigh Ann Brodsky, president NVCP said: “Neopets continues to innovate. Our toy line with Jakks will create new ways for kids to play and interact with the site in the months ahead”.

Kyra Reppen, senior VP and general manager of Neopets added: “We’re excited to launch Neopets Key Quest in conjunction with Jakks’ toy line, which will offer our fans a truly convergent play experience within the virtual world of Neopets”.
