US parental favourite Melissa and Doug has launched a new online offering.
The online store, available only for US customers, is powered by the Shopatron eCommerce platform, and orders will be fulfilled by Melissa and Doug retailers throughout the US, either in-store or through shipments in local areas.
The arrangement will allow retailers to benefit from additional online sales, and offer customers the convenience of shopping online from a larger selection of Melissa & Doug products.
"At Melissa and Doug, we strongly value our relationships with our retailers and are eager to take advantage of the opportunity to funnel business to them through our own Web site," said Rob Iatesta from Melissa and Doug.
"Our retailers actually encouraged us to partner with Shopatron, and we are looking forward to taking part in offering them all the advantages of the Shopatron solution, including in-store pickup.
At the same time, our many loyal customers now have an additional way to shop for our brand from the convenience of their homes.”
Aside from the new eCommerce option, the new site offers detailed descriptions and photos of a majority of Melissa and Doug products, more background on the company itself (including career opportunities), and a Product Information section in the Customer Service area, where parents can download playing instructions, extension activities, etc.
