Paddington’s reinvention continues, with Copyrights signing a deal to create a PS2 game based on the bear.
The firm has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with computer games publisher Blast Entertainment to develop and publish Paddington Bear games for Playstation 2. The deal, brokered by Copyrights’ new media consultants, AT New Media, will see the official PS2 games developed and ready for release from Q4 2007.
“The superb graphics of the PS2 platform and the adventure theme of the games will bring Paddington to life for a new generation across the world,” commented Karen Addison, Licensing Director, The Copyrights Group.
“AT New Media has helped us enter the new media games and content market by securing a number of licensing opportunities for our clients,” she continued, “and the entry of Paddington Bear into the console market through this agreement brokered by the AT Brands division of AT New Media is one of many interactive initiatives we are working on”.
The move follows the character’s recent inclusion as the star of a new Marmite ad campaign and news of a live action film arriving next year.
