Firm looks to strengthen its UK position with media campaign.
Meccano Toys has enlisted BLM Azure to develop its online and TV presence.
The firm, which specialises in child and youth marketing, will work closely with PR agency, Redbrick Communication, to deliver an integrated media campaign across late summer and early autumn.
TV advertising on Nick Junior and Cartoonito is scheduled to support Meccano’s Build and Play range while GMTV, Nickelodeon, Nictoons, Cartoon Network, Bommerang, Jetix and Nuts TV will run ad slots on the Spykee robots.
Spykee robots will also sponsor a programme on Boomerang while its microsite, currently in production, will be hosted by a children’s TV channel’s website. Plans for a Spykee viral film are also in development.
Sue Barratt, country manager, Meccano UK, (pictured) said: “Meccano’s ongoing investment in innovative design and new technologies is what keeps our products progressive and exciting - and appealing to all ages.
“BLM is helping to strengthen the Meccano brand by projecting this across different media platforms to reach all of our consumer segments. It is our plan that whenever you click online or flick channels, the Meccano name will be there.”
Jeff Taylor, MD, BLM Azure, added: “Meccano is one of the most established brand properties in the toy industry and its exciting product portfolio for 2008 shows it is very much today’s brand. Sue Barratt has put together a really dynamic team, and we are looking forward to playing our part in making a difference.”
