Martin Yaffe to produce figurines, playsets and plush under its Born to Play brand for new-look CGI show.

The first of the major licensing partners for the revamped Pinky & Perky brand has been secured, with PPC Enterprises appointing Martin Yaffe as the master toy licensee.

The firm has been awarded pan-European rights and will produce a series of figurines, playsets and plush toys under its Born to Play brand, all of which will have interactive features. Products are due to arrive in spring 2009 following the launch of the TV show on CBBC and BBC1 this autumn.

“We’re very pleased to have licensed Martin Yaffe these rights,” said Mark Hurry, director of legal and commercial at PPC Enterprises. “They’re an established toy manufacturer who will create high quality, novel interactive toys which will reflect the show’s liveliness.

“Pinky & Perky is a classic brand which has been revived and given a makeover for the 21st century. The new CGI series is sure to be a hit with both young and old and the quirky characters in the show present us with many great licensing opportunities.”

Ronnie Yaffe, MD of Martin Yaffe, added: “We’re delighted to have picked up these rights and to drive the Pinky & Perky master toy programme across Europe. This classic property has been updated with cutting edge graphics and an up to date sense of humour which is sure to create an enormous fan base."

As well as toys, PPC – which holds worldwide rights – is aiming to extend the Pinky & Perky brand into publishing, apparel, collectables and homeware.
