Upper Deck has sold out of the Light of Destruction booster and the Gold Series packs even before they reach retailer’s shelves in the United States and Europe.

The news comes on the back of a strong sales performance of the first release, Phantom Darkness, which was launched in February.

Light of Destruction, which was scheduled to launch on May 13th, is a 100-card set which features Light cards, allowing duelists to banish their opponents monsters. The set also includes the Arcana Force cards from Season 2 of the animated TV series; 10 world-premiere cards; and 10 cards previously only sold in Japan.

Leighton Kurashima, Yu Gi Oh brand manager, Upper Deck, said: “This is a great year for Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, both in terms of set content and chase cards.
